Getting to Newport Pittwater

by bus, car, ferry or taxi

If you’re arriving at Sydney’s International Airport, there are four simple ways to get to Pittwater:

1. Shuttle Bus

Pre-book your shuttle bus transport online from our list of airport transfers.
For international passengers, meet the driver inside the terminal adjacent to McDonalds. For domestic passengers, meet the driver inside the terminal at baggage carousel number 5.

2. Bus

From both the international and domestic terminals, catch the train to Wynyard station. From there, catch the L88 or L90 bus to Pittwater. For timetables, please visit

3. Taxi

A metered taxi will take you directly to your destination, and there are signs for the taxi ranks on departure from the customs area. For approximate costs, please use the International Taxi Fare Calculator.

4. Rental Car

5. Ferry

Palm Beach Ferries provides high speed passenger transport in Sydney and two popular passenger ferry services in the central and northern coasts of New South Wales.

  • Palm Beach to Wagstaffe and Ettalong on the Central Coast.
  • Palm Beach to Bennetts, Bonnie Doon, The Basin, Currawong and Mackerel Beach.

Church Point Ferry Service

Ferry service to Scotland Island and Western Foreshore

A ferry departs from Church Point hourly. Plan your trip: check the ferry timetable. Or book a ferry and explore Pittwater on your own schedule.

  • Scotland Island stops: Bell, Carols, Eastern and Tennis Court Wharves. North facing Tennis Wharf is a perfect spot for a picnic.
  • Western Foreshore stops include: Elvina Bay, Halls Wharf (access to Morning Bay), and Lovett Bay, made famous by Susan Duncan’s book Salvation Creek.
